About The Delta Dive Club
The Delta Dive Club was founded in 1983 by a handful of Delta Air Lines employees who were also scuba diving enthusiasts. Over the years, the Club has sponsored numerous educational meetings, many recreational scuba trips to popular dive destinations, and continually sponsored scuba training (both introducing folks to scuba and advanced scuba skills training). Although the Club has grown to 200 members over the many years since its founding, it continues to believe strongly in the principles and purposes upon which it was founded.
The Delta Dive Club Mission Statement
- To promote sportsmanship and the sport of SCUBA Diving by encouraging our members to achieve the highest standards of safety and proficiency in SCUBA Diving.
- To promote friendship and social activity among all departments of Delta Air Lines, Inc. system wide including active employees, retirees, their family members, and friends (as Associate Members of the Club).
- To promote educational programs that will provide fundamental knowledge supported by actual hands-on experience in a variety of areas including.
- To promote safe diving practices.
- To promote conservation of Marine Ecosystems.
- To promote First aid training and the proper way to handle dive related emergencies.
- To organize group Scuba Diving trips, educational and social events that will allow our membership to accomplish the above stated purposes.
- The Delta Dive Club leadership serves at the pleasure of its members and receives no compensation for their service. Occasionally club leaders receive complimentary accommodations and or services due to negotiated contracts with resorts and or service providers. When this occurs the affected leaders reimburse the Delta Dive Club treasury the financial equivalent of said accommodations or services.
